Eek! Tough because he/she doesn't have the typical EE feathering or pea comb..but the stance and, if those are waddles forming, that might have me worried a bit. I think he/she still needs a bit more time!

Time to put all this "guessing" to the test! Going to pick out my second batch of EEs tonight! Hope I find some plain, unsociable chicks Even thought they're too early to be 100%, I'm hoping experience, and all the cuties I've seen on here, will help me pick out some little ladies!

Yep, Meyer's! She had another "sister" that was B&W too, but as she matured, she started getting some chocolate on her back, and salmon on breast. They're both just really pretty. Your's is really gorgeous. Looks like a snowy owl I've seen a lot of beautiful EEs from Meyer

I'm thinking that looks like a roo My roo had this coloring as well. His comb pinked up at 4 weeks and he started getting rust feathers in one by one. Pullet, at least I'm pretty sure. Tricky...I'd say pullet for Carry and roo for Lucy. I have a B&W hen. She lays the prettiest sky blue...

Still kinda early. I think they're both pullets at the moment. The top one looks a lot like a cream legbar chick, single comb and all. I lost mine at about 8 weeks but she looked very similar :) She may lay you a pretty blue egg Bottom one looks more like a typical EE. Keep an eye on the...

Very pretty girl! At that age, I would think the comb would be much redder. And as far as the red on her wings, if she were a he, it would be more patchy, as opposed to that pretty lacing :) Add in her posture and you should start seeing eggs in a month or so!

Mine are definitely the latter....^ (Too many treats! lol) I have a little feathered fan club that pretty much follows me whenever I'm outside.

I LOVE his coloring....I agree though, looks like a roo, just may be a little less dominant. Pretty! Try and get her into a nesting box! I say that as the chicken mom of 4 stubborn laying pullets who would rather lay ANYWHERE else...lol Yesterday I pulled 2 eggs out of an old feed bin, and one...

I may be in the minority but I'm going to say pullet...her comb is still small, one row of peas..no reddening, no major splotches or dark red. Even her shape seems like a pullet.

HAH! I know! I was like that yesterday when my Barred Rock got in the box or the first time. Kept cruising by to check on her, and she give me what I'm sure was an annoyed look every time. She laid he first egg though!

Sounds like she's ready! Things can move pretty quickly. I have 6. My EE Pearl, started laying first. Then I though my Buff Orp would be next. She had reddened up quite a bit, but within a week my other EE, who I thought would actually be close to last, got bright red, started squatting, and...

I'm going with all pullets as well. Even by 12-13 weeks, I would think you would at least see a much redder comb on any possible roos. Good luck with eggs! My first layer was an EE and she started right before 21 weeks :)

I've noticed the penciling, but I never thought about the solid black collar...interesting! Someone already said this, so I'm agreeing :) #2 & #4 look like pullets, #3 looks more like a little roo, #1...tos up..I feel like I'm leaning more toward roo but I couldn't give you a specific reason...

Man, that sucks. Looks to me like they are all roosters. Thank you all. I was hoping the ameraucana was a hen with masculine features. Can a hen have 3 rows on her comb? Oh well, the breeder did say that she would take back any that are roosters. At least my broody hen got to raise some...
