Dear maritimefist,
Your birds are almost twins of my Jackie and Jessica, so I think they are both pullets. My roo in that that bunch is getting more obvious by the day, so plan on getting eggs from those two
Good luck they are beauties.
That is what I am thinking as well. Now that I think about it Peppie may be about 4 weeks old, I am at work, so I need to check hatch date on the home computer. Peppie isn't going to "freezer camp" even if a Roo, unless his personality becomes horrible, that egg was just too blue. Right now...
Ok, this is a three week old baby that came from what was to me a very blue egg...Peppie.
Boy or girl? I am thinking now (based on this thread boy but this is my son's favorite chick, and he swears it is a girl).
Peppie seems to have some more reddish colored feathers coming in on the...
Thanks, I can't remember what Gina looked like as a baby . I think she was mostly yellow. I bought a whole pile of these little chicks, and gave quite a few away to friends and family. (I am the crazy chicken lady, trying to spead the chicken love).
I am hatching a few here and there of both...
Update on Gina/Gerald? (with the correct face)
I am thinking Gina
The bird looks tiny, DH is 6'5" and has huge hands. She is white with gold lacing on the back and golden orange on the chest with a bit of gray mixed in.
Thanks
You are most welcome!
It is fascinating isn't it?
I see so many colors and physical characteristics of the South American parent stocks that we see in our own EE's. I especially found the part interesting about the diet of the native birds to improve hatch rates and blue egg color (quinoa...
In skipping around BYC, I found this great thread.
This is about the South American heritage of our little Easter Eggers, and we have much to be thankful for and prize our lovely birds.

Arrrggg,on closer inspection that is a second picture of Karl. I have to get a picture of Gina's face, but she has a smaller 3 row comb. Those are both pictures of Karl (Roostie) Arrrrggggg, sorry too many bird pictures on my computer. I will try to get a pic of Gina's face tomorrow.
I am confused by Gina also. She/he has a lot of color on the breast, but not much on the back. That is why I asked if females can have a three row pea comb. Karl's comb is much much more prominent than Gina's and they are about the same age
Karl;
Gina;
Still hoping that Gina is a girl ...
And last but not least Jessica or Justin. (My favorite as she reminds me of a hawk) Jessica has a lot of grey blue also, sorry about the pic quality,but she was not the least bit cooperative.
Some pretty birds others are posting. I would guess gender, but I don't yet feel qualifed to do so...
Thanks,so much
I have couple of more to post and another one with the grey blue tail but less black and gold on the neck.
I am a horrible chicken photographer, and my models are not posing well.
