I think they are both roosters and that Chiquita is just a little slower maturing. You took some AWESOME comb shots and that is why I think that Chiquita is a cockerel. IF it would have been just the two of them together, I would have said you have a pair. THINK is the key word though on...
Too young to tell. I remember my first batch of EE's and remember thinking to myself that they all looked partridge colored.. Even though in the end I had a range of colors from white/black to red. All the signs you rare saying, comb for instance point towards a pullet. Update us in a couple...
They all look like pullets to me. Watch for the starting of red in the wings, that is a sure sign of a cockerel for the last two pictures, but they're looking girly to me! :)
I'm sort of in the same boat. I ordered 8 EE pullets, 4 died within two days and then two of the remaining four turned out to be roosters. :( Sorry you got two roosters. Good luck rehoming them!
Yes, sounds about right. HERE is a picture of a comb of one of my roosters when he was young. You can kinda see what we're talking about. He was about 8 weeks old here though.
EEs generally have no wattles. I believe this is a cockerel and you'll see splotchy red coming in on the wings. That comb is just too big at 8 weeks. My opinion.
I don't know how old they are, but looks like you'll have eggs from these two! IF your first one (Cinder) is squatting, that's a good sign. Gorgeous! Love Ember's wind blown look!
