No my rooster is not related to my hens - I guess maybe. 1 or more of my hens has the gene as well... 4 more have hatched today after the last post and luckily they all have rose combs so a total of 5 rose combs and 3 single ( although small they are there) ... With 3 single combs hatching...

I was very excited as I'm hatching my first batch of chicks from my own birds. I've been counting the days and have been soooo disappointed in my hatch so far! :( So far 3 out of 4 of my chicks have a SINGLE comb instead of the wyandotte ROSE comb!? I know a throwback comb can show up...

I bought my eggs from slackwater on backyard chickens . 2 of 7 hatched but they did travel from Maine to Wa state do they litterally crossd the country. They were packaged very well.

I hatche 2 BLRWs last June and had two beautiful girls , but one was taken by something .... Here is her sister all grown up! I am so pleased with her, I wish I still had her sister too.

Noticed one of my BLRW feathers is black laced .. Lol the rest are blue...interesting... Someone joked that it's a birthmark. Lol she's a pet so I'm not to concerned but is this considered a fault or will it go away when she molts ... Has anyone seen this before ? And the rest of the flock...

Thanks :) I hope so! I'll post more pics later too as they continue to grow.... I had also read the blrws can't be feather sexed . Sometimes I feel one of them carries their body a little taller more like a cockerel and the other stays lower to the ground , but again I have nothing to base that...
