I'm in Eagle Point so close by too! I raise quail and also have orpingtons (2 lavender, a buff, and one English splash rooster) as well as three red sexlink chickens. I also have a trio of silver heritage turkeys.

Anyone closer to southern Oregon with orpingtons or similar sized chickens available? Looking to get another couple hens and possibly a rooster and like the larger size birds. Hoping to not have to drive more then 2 hours from Medford.

I agree! I'm down towards Medford and I believe there is fires north and south of us and the smoke is just awful today.

I still remember my girls' first egg. I took pictures of it and admired it for a few days. It's surprising how quickly the size of the eggs even out and get bigger...don't worry. And yes I still get excited every time I go into the next box....and I've been collecting eggs for over a year and...

If you want hatchery chicks all of the Grange co-op have chicks as well as Big R and Rainey's corner out in sam's valley.

Just thought I would say hi. Im from sourthern Oregon and just started into chickens this year. I have 4 barred rocks and 4 golden sex links. Started getting eggs about six weeks ago, was very exciting. Also am branching out and trying some quail.
