    Also, if you don't have a T-post driver, don't let them talk you into the spring loaded driver. You have to drive them twice as many times as the standard.

    Half of the T-post should be underground! Just kidding, it should be in the ground past the dog ears that are about a foot from the bottom. If you want a 6' fence, then you need 7.5' or 8' T-posts. You want at least 1' but 18" is better.
