calling all hunters: dealing with an air rifle- Grafic content

Some of the more capable brands actually had a tiny plastic cup holding the shot. I remember the shot in the crimped ones looking more like dust than shot. I've been shooting various brands for over 50 years, and none of the 22 LR's use shot larger than #12 It takes over 2300 of them to...

calling all hunters: dealing with an air rifle- Grafic content

I've used .22 shotshell to harvest many critters up to and beyond racoon size, it works. My recommendation is based on experience. Ever used the round yourself I guess you didn't read any other posts if you're asking that question. Post #29: I tried to kill a possum with one, but I guess 2...

calling all hunters: dealing with an air rifle- Grafic content

Based on the information in the original post, a .22 shotshell is absolutely the best choice I can't understand why you'd repeat that when so many have already stated from experience they DO NOT work on animals that size. If a .177 diameter projectile won't give quick kills, how could a .050...

calling all hunters: dealing with an air rifle- Grafic content

That's not shot, it's dust. I quickly changed over to .38 shotshells. Most of them use #12 shot Most hunters would use #6 for squirrels, and #4 or larger for coons

calling all hunters: dealing with an air rifle- Grafic content

Next suggestion would be to buy or borrow a .22 and use the "snake" rounds instead of a traditional bullet. The snake rounds are essestially a shot gun shell and very effective I might add. Thsoe work great for things no bigger than a rat, and at distances of less than 20 ft. They won't kill...
