    Yes I am still breeding these . Consistant slate legs on females but they do fade during the laying cycle . Double barred males are a problem . Dosage effect of 2 barring genes . Single barred have good slate color . I am doing mostly lavender cuckoo . All my cuckoo carry lavender .

    Another interesting bit of news.The Ameraucana Breeders Club forum has been discussing the leg color issue.Still some resistance but there is more support for a change than many suspect.Also it was noted that individuals can apply for a new variety not just a club.It still takes 5 breeders...

    I recently read that the columbian gene enhances slate legs with barring.This was on both types of white.It might be worth a test mating to see what happens.
