    It is a huge controversy that most winning Cochins, Rocks, and Orpingtons are way over standard weight. An 11 lb cock bird will rarely make it to Champions' Row. Until the weights are enforced by the judges, and stop putting up oversize birds, this will not change.

    Hatchery BOs have had Leghorn crossed in. They will lay well the first year, but tend to burn out quickly. Real SOP bred Orps will lay well for 4 , to 5 years.My SOP Orps lay like crazy, and keep on laying for years.

    This looks like an impacted sinus. Is she sniffling, sneezing ? If she is, it may be Coryza. I would separate her from my other birds as Coryza is contagious. You might try cleaning her nostril , and gently pressing on that swelling to see if the sinus will open.
