My Welsummer was sitting on 6 Naked Neck and 6 Plymouth Rock bantam eggs - she could have sat on about 18 bantam eggs if that's all I had.
My other Welsummer is currently on 12 large fowl eggs, she covers them no trouble.
Good work I've candled some eggs I've thought were not developing, but I've put them back under the hen just in case. I can't see any harm in doing it.

I've noticed that when hatch day is close. my broodies get a LOT more protective of the eggs.
My Welsummers and Speckled Sussex have gone broody a few times before I've let the Wellies actually sit and hatch, all are over a year old now but I guess they were around 9 months old...
