    hokankai - Thanks for the info - that makes sense. I will have to attempt that with my next Guinea nest locating adventure which should be occurring fairly soon by the looks of my paired-up guineas. My BO will surely still be broody as she's been broody going on like forEVER now.

    I guess that's a thought - to just let her hatch them 4 foot up. And then put them in a brooder til they all hatch - and THEN hope she 'takes' to them. It'd be nice for her to raise them.

    My nest boxes are up on the wall - my cat is sitting in it over on the left. I am a bit worried to do that as the baby keats would have about a 4 foot drop from there.

    I have Buff Orpington that has been broody so long I can't remember when she WASN'T. She's just sitting in the nest box - on nothing but straw. I did try to put some fertilized guinea eggs in a box on the ground & move her down there so she could at least be doing SOMEthing but back to her...
