I love it when I find another use for "stuff". I've always saved my dryer lint and used dryer sheets to use as fire starters. Works great! As I posted yesterday that I just started to sprout. Everyone's directions was to put cheesecloth or a piece of screen over the jar. I didn't have either...
I had been looking into making fermented feed for my "peeps", I didn't understand any of it. I was talking about it on another thread and it was told to me in what I call, Lisa Lingo = language I can understand.
It is sooooo easy to make and will cut my feed bill in half, possibly more. talk...
FUNNY... I can sooooooo relate to that. I have more "church socks" (you know, the Holy ones. hahahah) than anything. Recently, I broke down and bought a pair of nice, thick UnderArmor socks. 4 pairs for $30. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY.. The Walmart socks last longer. After one wash, they were...
hahaha.. yeah, I think I have jeans in two different sizes. Weight comes on in winter, then it goes away in summer. hahaha HOWEVER, the older I get.. the less it seems to coming off so easily in the summer. hhhmmmmm Maybe I need to chickens =more exercise for me
Those must be some goooood jeans. hahaha it's been a very long time since I've bought jeans for myself as well.
When I buy them for my 18 yo daughter, I have to pay extra it seems, for jeans with holes already in them. HUH??? It's in style, she says. So you and I should be in "style" before...
good gracious... Im not sure what happened on the above post. I was using my phone, trying to say I love the quote that your mom says. Apparently I REALLY loved your post. hahaha oopsy. sorry. I think I should just use my laptop for future posts..
I haven't read this entire thread (it is 260 pages long!!!) but for a couple of reasons (only one being the economy), I have been living my mom's advice:
'Use it up, wear it it out, make it do, or do without.'
Oh, and my girls provide the protein to go with the fruits and veggies I produce...
i was adding water to one of my celery plants today and i thought of you. I wonder if.. when the outer stalks have turned brown about half way, i usually pull them off. only because i think it looks ugly. i wonder if that might have something to do with it???? Just a thought.
It does sound funny when I hear you say it. Made me laugh. To me, it's just normal. My Mamaw always used to tell me, "Little girl, when you grow up and start making money, don't waste it by the spoonful". I've learned most of what I know from her. Of course, she grew up during the depression...
Nope nothing special. Just use a shallow dish of water. When ever you want, put in dirt. You could probably wait till it gets warmer then plant in the garden. Although, I've not tried that..... yet. Another way to get all the celery you want is to get Lovelace seeds and grow them. It's a plant...
This pix was taken last fall with my cheap phone camera.. In the clay pot is bok choy, rooted the same way I did the celery. The chives are in the blue pot. Rosemary in the jar (I forgot it outside a few nights and it got COLD... didn't make it) and the celery in the front. In the pix it looks...
For me, its always fun to reuse grocery store produce. For example, I buy a stalk of celery, cut it off at the base and use it. But, instead of throwing away the bulb end, I put it in a small dish of water and within a few days it starts to regrow. When its about 2 inches tall I drop it into...
