I put 4 CL eggs shipped from Texas to Michigan under my Silkie broody and she hatched 3 out of 4. If you're confident in your broody, I'd recommend giving her a chance.

It's to prevent the Easter basket/pet chick thing, right? The local feed store here is really careful right before Easter; in general, though, they know who has chickens and will sell one or two chicks to them, no problem. (Buying 100 lbs of chicken feed is usually a clue.) :-)
At this point, I'm guessing few people in North America have Cream Legbars without more-or-less significant faults. It's a really new breed here and breeders have only had time for a few generations of improvements. (That's what makes them fun!)
