Thanks for the tips! I'm fine with making the water colder and dunking her a few times over the period of a few hours - I just didn't know how cold and how long, and didn't want to overdo it, if there was such a thing.
I'll give it another go!

The funny thing is that I am using a big lobster pot to dunk her in. Laughing to myself I thought: If you stay broody you're going to be spending a lot more time in this pot - like 1 1/2 hours with your new friends Mr. Carrot and Mr. Onion.
