I also have more problems with Eagles than hawks, the red tail are a pain, but I have more eagles in this area. The other hawk if the Kestrel that causes me grief but only on baby chicks. When I free range I end up with a few broodies that steal nests and hatch them. Their chicks are in danger.

You have been extremely lucky. I have lost over 20 birds to hawks and eagles this summer alone. It is like that every year. I know I will lose 30 birds and plan for it in my hatches.
