the other egg hasn't hatched, and I suspect it won't
the surviving chick is doing really well, BUT! it is going to be all alone! no other chicks, no momma
will it be ok? should I buy some baby chicks, or can I raise it alone until I can integrate into the flock in a couple of month?

I *fired* the broody hen and I have only one egg left, I have put it in a dish over a garden heating pad, and I have put a wet cloth in the dish...

this young broody cochin has never been social or friendly... I'm wondering if my presence around her, watching her hatch the eggs made her vicious to her newly hatched?
I have been watching the broody hen for the last few hours with another newly hatched baby chick... no incidence until the baby tried to get out from under her, she pecked at it really hard! then she did it again, and I moved it to a separate heated brooder pen.
