Found the assisted hatching thread and I am giving them some more time.

So 3 of five hatched over the last 24 hrs but I have 2 with no pip. I am trying to remember what to do at this point; I had about zero sleep last night.

Thanks. I have one pip and one zip this morning. I am feeling more optimistic now.

Question; I just discovered that my incubator has been running a touch on the cold side; roughly 98.5 F. How much will this slow down my hatch by or have I destroyed my hatch completely? I had noticed the eggs didn't look like they were developing quite as they should so I bought and...

I had a minor heart attack this morning when I went to check the incubator. I plugged in two brooder lights last night for some shipped chicks that had arrived and checked throughout the afternoon for changes but everything was steady. I went down this morning and the temp down there had gone...

Well, I just candled last night and removed almost a third of the eggs. 12 of the 15 RIR eggs were good but the mixed eggs were about 50/50, 8 of 15 were good and one shell was to dark to see inside so I am leaving it for now. The mix eggs were given to me for free as the lady couldn't fill...

The farm innovator pro is exactly what I have. All the eggs are in cut up cartons at the moment and I have a clear shot to the main well, it's just not straight down. If I can figure out a way to get water down there...

I am worried too. My problem though is that my humidity holds steady, drops maybe 1-2% a day and then the wells run dry after about 18-24 hours. I have about 8-10 hours of water left in the wells and then I HAVE to open it to refill. I have been dribbling water in through the top to try and...

How well do silkies sell in your area if you don't mind me asking? I hatched three last year and tried to sell them when they were 16 weeks old. Hen went in a flash but the two Roos are give aways. I still have one as a matter of fact. I didn't even get one response on CL to the sale ad for...

Cool. I expect to hatch on Saturday and Sunday and will be picking up the eggs Wednesday. They may get dropped off earlier depending on the sellers schedule. She has family up here so she figured it wouldn't be any issue to drop off if she comes for a visit anyway. :D RIRs and Buff Brahmas.

Is it bad that I am not even quite to lockdown but I have the next batch of eggs lined up? :hide

This is our plan as well. If the extras are pullets we will try and sell those at 8 weeks or so but otherwise, they are all named Stewie.

True again. I am hoping to get all the babies sold in the first two weeks so hopefully I won't have to keep the brooder light on too long. :P I get my fuzzy butt addiction sated and make a few dollars in the process (again, hopefully)

Too true! I suppose it's a bit different between the person hatching local farm eggs vs someone hatching, say, tolbunt polish.

I just read something awesome! The cost of electricity to run an incubator (styrofoam style) for a whole year solid would only be about $21! Glad I didn't pick too expensive an addiction! :D

Maybe I will cut some small holes throughout. Or I heard a suggestion from someone else to use screen mesh, like from windows. Hummmmm...
