I have not heard of this either. If you get the information somewhere else, would you post a follow up here? I'd like to try that also. I do have egg turners but I think I'd be afraid of the temperature at a stacked egg's level. If you rotate/turn them by hand that wouldn't be such a problem.

Guineas are just as much fun to watch as chickens, geese, ducks and turkeys. They will eat the ticks and lots of other things the chickens here won't. I have a rash on both ankles from not wearing socks when I went out to mess around with my birds. I thought they were chigger bites but it looks...

I do have a packet of that stuff, how much do I make at a time? The packet says for a gallon and after one day it's no good. Should I just make the gallon and share it with the other birds? I don't want it to go to waste and a gallon is too much for these babies to drink in one day. Thanks for...

I have a problem. Posting here since this is where the newborns are talked about. One of my chicks is sitting on it's belly. It is the one that had the suds in the shell with it. I try to get it to stand up but it won't, it was doing better last night than it is now. It is in the brooder now...

I now have about 24-26 babies. LOL I lost count when I got distracted and there are still a few that are not pipped. I hope they are ok. I also have guinea eggs that are due in a week now and I added some of my mix breeds on day 7 to keep them company when they hatch. Hopefully, they will help...

OMGosh! So funny! I was reading this when a Hot Pockets commercial came on and they were playing a tune I don't know the name of but recognize. They were singing, "Hot Pockets got protein to please, hey piñata got energy, My hot pockets"..... Maybe someone knows the tune from the commercial? It...

I had a duckie in my incubator that wasn't ready to come out, when I went to check on it, I had a surprise! One of the eggs left in my incubator hatched! I had another little chick! I have 2 more that are close to hatching.

No, I don't plan on giving them away or selling them. Plan on using them myself. If the cockerels crow before they are caponized they will still crow for a while afterwards but not as much and as time goes on, not at all. At least that is what I have read. Yes, they are more docile and don't...

When I was a kid, I can remember seeing "Capon" in the grocery store but didn't know what they were. I though they were another type of fowl, like chicken, duck, goose or game hens. I haven't noticed any Capons in the grocery stores for ever! Doesn't mean they aren't there, I just don't notice...

I don't know when they will be ready to go but I hope to take Poco Pollo's clinic next month but the date for the clinic hasn't been set yet. If you end up just giving them away, maybe I can find a way to pay for them to be sent here and I can caponize them. Depending on when you are ready to...

On day 3 of my 2nd incubation I was groggy when I went to check on my incubator. I mistakenly turned the knob the wrong way when I saw it reading 102. I went back to bed for a few hours and when I next checked on it, the incubator read 106. I had 8 survive out of 36 eggs. It can be done but I...

Come to think of it - they don't anymore. They did for a while but I have swiss cheese for brains sometimes and the part that should be there saying that they haven't made 3 lts of Coke for years must be where one of the holes is. LOL

That's what I was doing but if it is ok to boil them, mash them and feed them back to the chicks and chickens then that is what I want to do to not waste them.

I don't really think she was getting $40 a dozen because she said she had lowered the price to $20 per dozen but I guess she and her husband were bouncing numbers around and he just got the wrong numbers and posted them. She did not want to sell them to me for $7 a dozen and that was what was...

You do this after they have been in the incubator? I didn't think they would be good for anything after they had been in the incubator for a time.
