I do not know that model but I did not like tje adjusting on our old one and we upgraded to digital. I can dig out the link for the part we bought that dh installed. You did not say if it had a fan. Where is the water tray? We adjust humidity by adjusting the surface of water available by...

shipped quail eggs can already be too dry, so be careful with that. That statement is the answer to EVERY single humidity question out there. Is it too wet? look at the air cells or weight. Is it too dry? what do the air cells say? Should I aim for (x) humidity or (y) humidity? look at...

The vets I have talked to say medicated feed isnt worth it for chicks in a brooder. If it is there the small space it is too strong for the medicated feed to work. It is more complicated then that but it boils down to medicated being for chicks with mothers not brooders. I pre treat at 4 and 6...

My unscientific stufy of people tslking about shipped egg hatches has dickys in front on % by a considerable margin. Plus mr dicky is cool I am a fan. No it is not typical my breese had one of the best hatch rates on the eggs I shipped. Sulmet is very hard on chickens and can do permanent...

Ya my styrafoambator is in the bedroom. If the fan gets too labored it wakes me up. For those of you getting the ceramic heating units. (I love them!) Do not get thwblack ones from China. The glue sucks and gives out with the changing temps . dead eggs cold chicks and fires oh my! Merry...

Your own quail eggs are very forgiving. Shipped quail eggs use anything but make sure the eggs don't dry out. You need to pay a bit more attention to turning your eggs so you don't get feet or leg problems. Any Styrofoam incubator will work. Some recommend no fan but I have not tried that.

For Marans that are too big often the temps are high and 5 they grow fast or the membranes are streached. Did they internally pip?

Penny I meant to say 2 Blue Genes Instead of just the presence of a blue gene at all. My s4 is an incorrect auto correcting fiend. Ask ron on the hatch a long to show you his Amelia eggs vs his fcbm/ee olive Egger eggs. He has a few Amelia and can give you an idea. His fcbm based girls are...

Quail are very easy to skin and gut. I can do the whole thing from bird to done in about 5 min each. All I use is a pair of scissors.

I'm waiting for the gene test for hero blue egg genes. Should be soonish . At that point it will be much easier to pick birds that will breed true. Cl/Penscadaras (sp) are auto seeing olive eggers. They were autosexing ft have a friend that breeds them. We call them Amelia after the first...
