This is the only chick that I got out of my last hatch,I don't know what happened but anyway that's the way it is. This is where she decided that she would like to roost. She's been jumping in and out of her tote box and I let her because I feel sorry for her that she's probably bored. She's...
Stryker, I have hatched eggs before at 70° humidity Temp, I never went any higher than 70. I had a horrible incubation this time. I had three eggs left in the incubator out of 21 and two of them didn't make it and I just ended up with one check. When I opened up the eggs it look like the chicks...
This is my Ameraucana chick. She or he is five days old and I'm wondering if anybody has any thoughts on what sex it is. I know I should probably go on the Ameraucana line but I wanted to do the incubators anonymous. She's the only chick I have out of 21 eggs. Very frustrating time. I had the...
I got my first baby last night out of 15 eggs. The chick was two days early and so far so so good. I have never had any that came two days early, usually one. This one is fine. She's on the hygrometer like she's a queen, and making lots of noise.
My incubator has been running steady at 100...
Canada, I got mine in Walmart. We are everywhere in the United States and I would imagine in Canada too. I got a real nice hygrometer and thermometer combo and it wasn't that much money and it works great for me. It wasn't much more than $10. Good luck
Marchick, I think myself that 68 is good. When I am incubating chiks and get down to the last three days I keep mine around 70 so if it's the same as your birds you should be fine. Mine usually come a day early so maybe I'm to high. You might be at a perfect setting.good luck!
Lady cat my incubator temperature goes back-and-forth from 100 to 102 and then back down to 100, do you think that's okay?I hate to mess with it and figured as long as it doesn't go any higher than 102 that it's probably okay. What does anybody think about that.I just keep a constant watch over...
Thank you to everyone for the nice replies and words of encouragement. I guess I was having a bad day yesterday or something because that was kind of a complaining thing I did. I love reading all of the post on your thread. And yes I do really enjoy my chickens. I have four eggs under a Broody...
Well I guess you guys are way out of my league! 950 eggs in the incubator that doesn't sound like backyard chickens to me. So I guess it's silly to say how well my 1602N hova-bator did for me. 45 to 50 lbs. of food a day sounds more like a business. Sorry I ever wasted your time bragging about...
Well I don't know who answered my question for sure about the humidity if it was PD or lady cat anyway I have the hova bator 1602N thermal air incubator. The humidity always starts out a little high and then it just seems to fluctuate it's been raining a lot here and it's humid here and it's...
Well I guess I've been lucky. I always put water in the incubator and I also do the sponge thing in the hatching time.I guess I just wanted to see what others did and get some input. I usually keep my humidity at around 40. And the last three days I crank it up to around 70 and I've had real...
Lady cat, I'm going to set some eggs today and I'm just wondering what you think is the ideal temperature for the incubator I have it at 100° right now and it usually when I incubate it varies between 100 and 101 and sometimes it has even been up to 102 but I try not to let it be that high...
Crzyckldy,it is hard with the humidity but when I'm on lockdown with my eggs I just put a sponge usually and drip water on it when I see the temperature start to go down.I have 12 eggs in my incubator right now and my first egg hatched this morning and I have one more about ready and then 3 more...
I have some eggs in my Hovabator right now and they have been running around 46 percent. It has been staying between 99percent and 102, most of the time at 100 percent. The last time I incubated eggs I got 5 out of 9. I didn't think that was to bad. My bator was at 40 percent humidity this...
I have those kind of eggs too. I had them doing the same thing so I went outside and got some small rocks and put one in each egg. They don't kick them out anymore. Only once and a great while.
Well I'm no guru but I did like incubating eggs. It's a lot of work due to making sure the temp and humidity is where it's supposed to be. I was probably guilty of to much humidity at times but I actually think that more is better anyway. My thought and I also think I read it, is that it makes...
