thats whats in the back of my mind. i think i will but slowly start creeping the minutes down. thanks to all my buddies on here!
That was my thought as well. Even though restricting her daylight hours may not be doing anything to stop her lay, that's...
I never wanted to mention it before, but orpingtons aren't so sensitive to daylight hours affecting their laying as most other breeds are. Mine lay almost as well in winter as in summer.
GO ROSIE!
You're getting a lot of suggestions and advice, but please just keep doing what you're doing because it's working. I'd hate to see you take someone's well meant advice and have it backfire.
By the way, it's a myth that scratch helps keep them warm. Any food does that, not just corn.
Rosey loves you! But really, soaking the poo off takes time. It will soak off with just water, but it takes sometimes a good 15-30 minutes. Which, when you're standing there with the chicken in the water, seems like 50-100 forevers. Don't really need to hit it with a strong spray, just need to...
Long as she can still poop she's ok. Just soak that bottom in warm water like you planned. Sometimes it takes a lot of soaking to get stuff off but it will come off. And you don't really need to use any soap. The warm water soak will probably do her little bottom some good anyway.
Just ignore...
