It's funny to me that people hear a difference between Canadian and "American". My family is Canadian and I don't hear hardly any difference between Canadian and the people who live in Michigan, at least. Just a few words said slightly different, plus many people in Michigan say those words...
I got Northern and they even pinpointed Chicago/Detroit and a few other cities around the Great Lakes. I grew up in Detroit. My accent is also considered Mid-western by some.
Usually these tests get my accent correctly.
