    Four out of the seven hatched, as I expected. Got some bulbs for the brooder today and moved the four to the barn--just in time! I got 120 quail eggs waiting to go into the incubator I was using as a makeshift brooder.

    Okay, I was wrong. The 4th egg zipped and out came another Barnevelder! I candled my last 3 eggs. The two Barnevelder eggs are a no-go, but the EE egg is a maybe. It looks like something is in there. I'm going to just let it sit and see what comes up, if anything.

    For my colorful rooster entry: This is Pistol. He's hanging with his flock and not really into getting his picture taken. He's an EE and the most colorful bird I have, if you don't count the blue and lavender birds.
