hi there Sylvester, if they climb the latter they will jump into the garden which is fenced in.that ladder I made for the coop but they didn't use it so I took it out. Instead of climbing up to the perch the flew up instead.

that sounds like a good idea. That's what I did today when I got home from work, I nudged her out and got the eggs. Then I let all the chickens out into the yard to free range. I guess she heard the other chickens getting excited about being out of the run she came on out. It was the first time...
T Jordan, you're welcome. I guess some rooster breeds are super dominant/aggressive more than others. I don't really have that much experience with them to offer any other advice.. Maybe try googling about aggressive roosters..
hi Sylvester,the rooster is smaller then the other hens but a little bigger the the gray ones. Not sure what breed he is. I'll try to get a pic of him.
