Finally got the roof and nest boxes on. In the second picture I am taking it from a window just like the one in pic. The little chicken door in last pic has hardware cloth over because we always left the big people door open so they never used it, now it adds to the 24/7 ventilation- magicstorm

try the dollar stores for dish pan and just take a razor knife and cut a lower opening in one end- magicstorm

Very serious, cypress sounds great, as I would want it to last. Any suggestions on size based on the words would be greatly appreciated. I would like to have one of the chicken emblems also. You can PM me any suggestions if u want. I will be thinking on it also.- magicstorm

I have a couple of big mixing trays with a 2 inch thick cement block and fill it to the top of block with water and an ice 2 liter. Did not have to convince mine at all to use it. With in 10 minutes they figured it out. Some sit on block, some on the ice bottle and some stand in the water.- magicstorm

Here in Central Florida we r running 93 with a humidity of 70%. All you do is walk outside and you are dripping.I dipped 18 chickens in a 5 gallon bucket of water today for the first time. I was afraid the fan and ice bottles and solid shade just were not enough. They were very sedentary...- magicstorm

Mine has a full sheet of linoleum covering. I went to a discount flooring place and got it cheap as it was a leftover piece from another job. It doesnt hurt to ask. Lol- magicstorm

We are adding 8 more feetof run tomorrow. Then just paint and the roof. Hopefully next week. The coop is 8x8 and the run including under the coop will be 8x24 tomorrow. I put feed and water in the coop at sunset before they go in and bring it out to run in am. I also feed ff in run in the am.- magicstorm

I dont know about the pipe thing, but in the shade it will still keep the water cooler than without i would think. My girls and guys love for us to just put frozen water bottles in the run and coop. They sit on them to cool down. I also put 1 in a shallow tub with a cement block they sit on that...- magicstorm

So far Im lucky in that regard. The first 6 I bought straight run Ameraucanas and there is 1 roo, then 4 more straight run EEs and I think only 1 is a roo. Then I got 8 pullets from Rural king and all seem to be pullets. Yay- magicstorm
