Hey Loth, great to hear that you are being so generous with what was money given to you. Personally though, I would still put shopping on hold for a time, and do something like hand-made gifts or baked goods instead. If you are willing to do that to get to and from a job then that shows a potential employer that you are a hard worker willing to do what it takes to get what you want.
