    I know this has been answered but I can't find it. Can you use layer crumbles to ferment? How about feed mill layer food, its nothing like store brought layer food. The consistency is more like crushed bird seed.

    I meant to save a subject and now can't find it, the horse manure for bedding should it be fresh or already composted? My daughter has 15 horses on her farm I can get fresh mixed with shaving or composted. Thanks

    My hen is not doing well today. She has a clear liquid with a tinge of yellow leaking from her vent its just a bit not a lot. She also seems to be slowing down. Ay advice? I have been following advice given by Fred awhile back but it's not doing her any good.

    Old timers do you worm your chickens? I saw what might have been a long round worm in a pile of poo on the poop board. I ground up some pumpkin seed and pumpkin and fed it to them but now wondering if I should start a worming program. Would cold weather when laying down be a good time to worm?

    I threw a bunch of winter wheat seed in the back run Sunday . If it doesn't germinate in the next week or so will the seeds harm the chickens? Right now I have the pullets fenced off from that run if the seed does not show signs of growth I would like to open that run back up.

    Will that work with any large winter squash ..like cushaw squash. The produce stand shut down and called me I got free a trunk full of pumpkins and cushaw for the chickens. Also I thought chickens couldn't eat moldy food wouldn't the pumpkins be moldy after sitting all that time?
