i have fun with those calls. i them get to the part where they need your credit card. then i just keep saying hello hello hello. then the next thing i say is dang phone, it broke again.. dang it.then i hang up.. they will always call right back. i answer hello. the norm is they say hi i am...
x2 myself i hate winter. i can go 2-3 months without talking to a soul.but the chickens. i must be part chicken cause in the winter months i don't produce either.
fred i was thinking of doing the same thing. i can't find anything around here in feed that contains a good meat source. we have a ton of butchers around here. with that sais no butcher here will do a chicken reasonable. the last butcher i went to for processing a bird wanted 6.50 a bird.
i will get a source for you. this information came from my mill. i wanted some animal proteins in my feed. i was willing to buy a ton of a custom blend. this the information i was told by the mill owner. the mill i use is called hoke mills in abbottstown pa.
i am glad. i have some nice birds i want to breed. however i don't breed in the spring. however this when i look hard at my potential hens. so far i have maybe 4 hens i a watching hard. out of those 4 the best 2 will make the final cut.. will see.
remember fred no pinched tails.
i wish all a happy thanksgiving. please take a second and please say a prayer before you eat for those unfortunate and the suffering also give thanks for the bird we are going to eat.
well went to the coop. what did i find but big daddy possum. i freaken ran out of bullets. so i did it the old fashion way. baseball bat. yep no more of that possum. that is 3 in a couple weeks. i think i got the family.if not i kill the rest.
can the chickens eat possum.
they are the best i love my mastiffs. all i have to do point my finger in a downward position and say "sit " and that dog is sitting. say "down " and she lays down, say say no and she sits at attention. just a god dog.
good luck with that. they will fight at some point. this is for top position. who mates and who does not. sometimes if you have enough hens they will split the flock. if bringing in another rooster watch them closely . roosters can inflict serious damage or cause death. think of lion prides. it...
first congratulations on the dear kills.
roosters well we all different opinions on them. what i look for in a rooster is this.
1. how is he with the flock
2. how does he free range- find food , protect and observant
3. how does he mate aggressive or gentleman
4.how much does he...
i understand your stand on the dog. giant breed dogs are hard enough without them being mistreated. socializing a broken dog takes months and months. my mastiff rescue is now just at the point of decent behavior. the next steps are social interaction with the others. it will take another 5-6...
