keep your coop and nesting boxes clean and you will have clean eggs. That coating that you can't see on them called bloom is there to prevent germs. If you wash it too much, you are doing more harm than good. Most of my eggs get a simple brush off and get put in the fridge. My family hasn't...- marritimer

The most I've ever had to do to clean them was to simply wipe them off lightly with a dish cloth. Maybe if they are dirty, use a warm damp cloth.- marritimer
