Chickens for 10-20 years or more? Pull up a rockin' chair and lay some wisdom on us!

Quote: Well I would say every year but last year I got a tomato blight so I only did half that. I use the juice and salsa in my chili and veggie soups and pasta sauce, pizza sauce, ketchup in other recipes. I then use some of my sauces to can italian and sweet frankies peppers too. I actually...

Chickens for 10-20 years or more? Pull up a rockin' chair and lay some wisdom on us!

I do love my raised bed for carrots, as I have already stated I don't think I could ever have enough raised beds for what I grow though. I usually do over 70 tomato plants alone plus all of my corn, beets etc etc. I can over 700 quarts of tomato products not counting my beans and every thing...

Chickens for 10-20 years or more? Pull up a rockin' chair and lay some wisdom on us!

Chickens for 10-20 years or more? Pull up a rockin' chair and lay some wisdom on us!

Quote: I am on page like 23 and I am starting to see part of the 'farming'. I just haven't read yet where anyone sells their meat birds to the public. I see where eggs are sold but have not come to selling meat birds or how they work around the USDA. I don't clean the walls of my coop so...

Chickens for 10-20 years or more? Pull up a rockin' chair and lay some wisdom on us!

I have a question for the OT, I have been trying to read this entire thread and have not made it through yet. If this has been asked and answered just let me know. I will come to it eventually. I am assuming those that raise chickens and have done so for many years eat them. I am wondering a...
