May I please get some education on the best methods of sending your chickens to "freezer camp"? We have a few birds we will need to cull before October and this is our first flock. Thanks!
Christie Rhae: where are you in Hawaii? I am from Oahu and my husband is a big island boy. We are doing a swap meet run this weekend as a matter of fact. I plan on keeping my eyes peeled for chickens since this is my first trip back since we got our flock.

I saw several postings about it helping them to get that "closed in" feeling for their laying. I am just trying to prepare them for the best environment and keep the number of mistakes I make down to a minimum.
Stonykill, this is why I am a newbie - you really want to tease me? I have spent literally hours and hours on this site and many people do recommend curtains for privacy - I am only trying to do the best for our chickens
I have a question about the nesting boxes. I know about the curtains that people put up on their nesting boxes but do I train the girls to use the boxes first without the curtains and then add them or put the curtains up first? Silly question I know, but these girls are my first!
