    Chicken Hawk 33 - the "tells" for sexing are in the finer details of appearance, as well as their carriage and behavior. If you want some opinions, do you have any good pictures of each one we could see?

    TGRREZ - I'm no expert here, but that one's looking pretty Roo to me. Not only the neck feathering, but the little wisps going back off the head (rather than big powder puff looking).

    Once they get to a certain age, it does become clear... but boy, the chicks look SO alike!

    Roo. Crows, and finally got some male-looking comb and plumage. Not only that, but survived injuries sustained in a dog attack on our flock. He's a hero.

    Posted this in another thread, but thought I would drop in here where the experts are hanging out. ;-) The rest of the silkies from this bunch are clearly sexed at this point (4-5 mos old). This one, though... Comb says roo. Carriage says hen. Neither pouf nor streamers. No definite...
