It's a little weird for a rooster, but that wasn't a part of the judging process :P I loved how his owner described his personality, the pictures were stunning, and he has such beautiful colouring. He is one pretty boy!

I love partridge. The colours are so stunning and eye catching. I have a few in my flock (though all are girls). Seems like you really like the colour red ;)

I am the OP, so I am just sharing an image today. My honey took me on a farm tour for Valentines day (how nice is that!?) Anyway.. We saw so many pretty mixed breed roosters. This was one of them. I believe his father was full Phoenix from what I remember. Mother was mixed. He is not dubbed...

Wyandottes can be born with single combs, as it is a recessive gene. They were bred with cochins, as well as other single combed breeds in their past, so it can happen occasionally. http://www.hpbaa.com/Wyandotte_History.html A lot of hatchery birds come out with single combs.

Thought I'd let you know that I am getting some barred NN sometime in April. They bred the green egg layer gene into them 5 years ago, so I get NN AND green eggs! :celebrate

I've picked two for you. Lance for the bantam and Charlie for the Standard. Charlie is way too cute not to be included. I am getting some NN myself come spring :D

Which is your favourite? I didn't say it in the beginning, but we are doing one bird per size (bantam & standard) per person. That way the smaller flock owners have the same chances.
