Glad to hear you got some keep us updated on how her foot looks, I'm thinking you probably won't have to open it again just keep soaking and apply the iodine about every 3 days.
I used 2 cups of ES to a 2 gallon bucket of water but start with 1 cup because you can't fill the bucket up all the way anyway or they will spill the water out. I did use 2 cups with my gander when he had swelling from a bee sting, on my chickens i used 1 cup in a small half gallon bucket. Can't...
When I use the ES soaks I just put it into a bucket with warm water about 2 cups to a bucket about 2 gallon of warm water and put both feet in that way they are standing better, then I just sit with them to keep them in, then you don't have to worry about them drinking the water.
Awesome...
So when will you be able to pick him up since breeding season is starting it would be great if you could get him soon. How old is the gander? and what has he been living with ? lol
Yay!! that's awesome, is he Toulouse? Once you bring him home put them somewhere with fencing betweem them so they can get use to each other and she begins to realize she is a goose, I had to make a screen out of plastic poultry fence so I could let them sleep together, Sam would scare Missy so...
I had the same problem my gander imprinted on his mama Scovy and so he thought he was a duck for 6 yrs. in 2012 we got got our goose Missy and he did not like her at all i had to end up separating his mama from him into another part of the yard with my older ducks so he would begin to hang out...
Did you raise her from a gosling? I have a Toulouse goose i got her when she was 4 months old, barely had any interaction with people so she isn't near as tame as my gander that was hatched here by my Muscovy duck. She is lovely and so are her duck companions.
I know poor things My goose stepped on an bee last spring and had a swelled foot for close to a week, I soaked it in ES every evening till the swelling went down he was such a baby about it. lol
Keep us updated on how your goose is doing, also come over to the goose thread and visit, but be sure...
