I finally got to Wal-Mart to get some of the decolorized iodine that I was told to get for my Sophie. So tomorrow I will get able to put it on her foot after I soak it in the Epsom salts. I am happy that I finally got it. My van is not working correctly and I had to wait for my hubby to get home...
I hope it will be love at first site too. I will put her in a bucket then. It just seems easier to get her lust for playing in the water done with first.. 2 cups seems like a lot! Are you sure I should use that much? I didn't yesterday. But then again you have gotten them to clear up.... so, may...
He is about a year old also. He has also been around ducks, not sure about the chickens. Can't remember that one. It is my hope that maybe next weekend I can go get him. At this moment I don't have the cash for the trip. So he will have to wait till payday.
Sophie is happy as a lark right now...
Sophie, Is young yet about 1 1/2 yrs. And yes, it is a Toulouse! I am so excited and happy. The lady said she had looked for a female for him but didn't have any success. She is just happy that he will finally have a mate. I am too. Lol I will take your advise and keep them separate but together...
I think I have found one. Yay!!! It will be a challenge getting her away from the ducks. Although she is in a dog crate right now due to her bumble foot. :-( So I guess if I can get upstate soon it may be easier than if I have to wait (weather). It would be ideal to get him while she is in the...
I got her when she was only a few days old. We spent alot of time with her but the ducks are not as friendly and she has picked up on their behavior. I really wish i could find a gander for her. I think she needs to be around another goose. The ducks, we love them too their antics are hilarious...
I found this quite informative! Thank you very much for sharing it. There really are a lot of opinions out there on how to treat this problem. However, I think the less stressful method for a duck or goose is optimal. I will soak her foot tomorrow and treat it. Cheers! :-)
Ok, thanks. I am the one who opened it because it looked so much like bumble foot. I was going on what I knew. Now I did not find any puss. Should I dig further into the affected area to find the puss? Or let the soaking and the iodine do the job?
I have a question. This is something I have not had before. Can a goose get bumble foot? This is what I found on my goose today.
What course of action should I take with this? Thanks
Wow! That was a while ago.. I really am not sure what breed they were, I had gotten them at an auction. The only thing I have here now that is directly related to one of these girls is a drake that came from the first egg they laid when they got here. I now have 15 ducks and one goose and...
Well actually they are a mix for the most part. I have a drake Pekin and a Mallard. So the babie's could be.... Pekin/Mallard x, Pekin/Runner/crested x, or Mallard/Mallard, or Mallard/Runner/Crested.... I know i need to seporate them, I'm working on it. Here is a pic of some of the eggs that we...
