I have been using my redwood now for about 5 weeks or so. It has the push, pull turner bars.
So far, its worked well with my chicken eggs, but my goose eggs not good at all. I suspect they aren't turning like they should.
Last week None of the eggs hatched, and the week before I had 3, but...
Is it the one that is on someones website? It really doesn't give info on the incubator...I wish I had something more in depth myself. That is what I have as well.
Is it normal that my 6 drawer Farm Master stays the same temp no matter where I put the thermometers? Well, within a 1/2 degree? Its not that I"m complaining, But I thought that the lowest drawer's temperature would be a little less than the middle & upper drawers. Its been 2 weeks now, I've put...
Update...I put some thick fleece horse saddle blankets on the top. Then, it went up to 102, so I lowered it a little at a time, turned off the inside light, and it seems to be holding around 100 now. Mine seems to not have any insulation in the top, so maybe the heat was escaping through it...
OK, so i ran it for a couple of nights with no problems, I even have a high low gauge. Last night, it went down 2 degrees in the middle of the incubator. It probably went down to 30 degrees outside. Remember I have it in an unheated barn, but in an insulated room without heat.
Should I get...
Depends on the hen. Some breeds have had the "broodiness" bred out of them, like a leghorn, or other breeds bred for producing more eggs. Getting a broody hen isn't easy. A hen that will go broody for one person, will lose her broodiness by the time its given to someone else.
That is how mine is, but I have a little light bulb in the middle hole. The right runs the fan, and the left is to turn on the heat. But, on mine, the right is "up" for the fan, but to turn on the heat, the left one has to be "down". Weird. Mine doesn't have a spring like that so can't comment.
I can help....I've received a ton of help on here for my Farm Master recently. That light, should come on when you turn the switch on for the heating element. My switch for some reaon is upside down, so for 3 weeks I coudn't figure out why there was no heat, until one day I switched the left one...
So I had a very "duh" moment. On my incubator, there is a light bulb with 2 switches below it, one on the right & one on the left. I knew the right one turned on the fan & inside light bulb plus the outside little indicator bulb. The switch on the left, I had no idea but I put it in the up...
So, I finally got a new heating element, cause for 3 weeks the incubator would stay around 84. For 2 days it stayed at 84, and then today, its up to 100. I'm going to let it go for a few days & see if it fluctuates. When we tested the element, it didn't register that electricity was going...
