    FERMENTED FEEDS...anyone using them?

Welcome home KP. I noticed you hadn't posted in a couple days. So thrilled to read about your increase of eggs. I've had chickens for several years and I get so excited each day when I collect the eggs. It's such a simple pleasure given to us from our loving Father. Wish all things in life could...

    FERMENTED FEEDS...anyone using them?

Sorry I got behind on the post here, had some health issues. Thanks for the encouragement but oh Bee, you have opened a BIG can of worms now. I love my chickens and I love to take pictures so just remember you asked for this. My baby Speckled Sussexs and Partridge Rocks came today. The...

    FERMENTED FEEDS...anyone using them?

Thanks, I will have to go to that forum and read it. The thing I like about this thread is I'm not "scared" to ask any question here. I asked a question on another thread one time a couple years ago and was told that I was "hi jacking" the thread and should start my own thread. After that I...

    FERMENTED FEEDS...anyone using them?

I worked for a vet for awhile and he always suggested deworming all animals at least once a year. So thus I have always tried to deworm everything at least once a year. But I don't ever remember seeing anyone bring a chicken to our clinic either so...... I love free ranging my chickens...

    FERMENTED FEEDS...anyone using them?

This may not be the time nor the place for this but since we are discussing more "natural" ways to care for our chickens maybe someone wouldn't mind helping me. I'm wanting to worm my chickens. In the past I've put Wazine in their water, but I REALLY don't like worming them that way. Anyone...

    FERMENTED FEEDS...anyone using them?

I have a question for those of you that feed FF to chicks. What type of feeder do you feed in. My chicks love the FF but get in it and walk on it and pack it down then don't seem to want it until I get home and stir it and then they go wild again and eat until it gets packed down again. How...

    FERMENTED FEEDS...anyone using them?

AMEN Bee, and remember what is TRULY important in life, God, Family, and Friends! KPGOLD....... I'm so excited for you on the first egg. Finding that first egg, or any egg as far as that goes, is such a simple pleasure that brings such joy to a chicken lovers heart. Congrats!

    FERMENTED FEEDS...anyone using them?

I told you I was a little thick headed sometimes. Somewhere I missed the post about not having to cover it with water. I have been trying to keep at least 1/2" to 1" of water on top of the FF at all times. It will be so much easier to manage without that much water floating on top. Thank you...

    FERMENTED FEEDS...anyone using them?

Thanks for the info KP. So there shouldn't be a lot of liquid in the fermenting pot. Just leave some of the fermented food for backslopping?

    FERMENTED FEEDS...anyone using them?

Thank you Bee. I have learned from reading the post that you always have very knowledgeable answers. I will add the laying crumbies tonight, lay off the grits, and feed the Calf Manna to the Miniature Horses (they will love it) and EVERYONE will be happy. Again thanks for replying back.

    FERMENTED FEEDS...anyone using them?

Thank you BYC friends for this wonderful thread. I truly enjoyed reading each post, but I would like to ask a few questions. I apologize before hand for any redundant questions that might have been posted and answered earlier, but I am just a little thick headed sometimes. I started about...
