    FERMENTED FEEDS...anyone using them?

Good idea! I am hatching on Fri/Sat so I should get some started tomorrow. Or I suppose I could just pull some from my 8 week chicks tub each day!

    FERMENTED FEEDS...anyone using them?

I was wondering if I should still feed dry once every few weeks so they are used to it in case we go out of town for the weekend?

    FERMENTED FEEDS...anyone using them?

I am excited to see the difference in percentage of feed we will be using. I start a new bag next week and will keep track. I would have to go look, but currently for my 8 adults, a 50# bag of dry free feed lasts me 12-13 days or so. Not sure how to compare with the littles because of their...

I made both my layer and grower buckets of FF drier over the weekend and it is SO much easier to dish up now!

    FERMENTED FEEDS...anyone using them?

Cool...thanks. I'd like to make my batches twice weekly around my work schedule. This seems to be a wonderful system and much easier than I expected! And thanks for telling me about the mold...that would have freaked me out going out to that one morning.

    FERMENTED FEEDS...anyone using them?

More questions...should I just keep one bucket going, or should I have two per flock? I keep a 5 gallon 90% full right now. I will be pouring some of it into another bucket to get some going with the grower feed for the chicks and would prefer just to have one bucket for each flock. How often...

    FERMENTED FEEDS...anyone using them?

Probably! We have a water softener for the house, but I use the bibs at the other end of the property for the chickens...so I don't think the water is treated out there.

    FERMENTED FEEDS...anyone using them?

My feed finally fermented!!! It took an entire week to happen, and I was about to give up but FINALLY got bubbles and explosion to the top of the bucket. A week ago I started out with a 5 gallon bucket, filled it 1/3 with feed and covered with water and maybe 3/4 c. Bragg's ACV. And waited...
