I have some silver foxes and they’re incredibly soft! I do need to find a second doe from a separate bloodline before summer though. I got my current doe set up in her hutch and not a day too soon. I found her building a nest in the duck’s dog house!
never did get those potatoes in 😅
What. A. Day.
I went to a friend’s to learn how to process rabbits and came home with two does that I was NOT ready for! Haha!
so, a few hours later I had all the food and gizmos and built the hutch.
as for plants gardening, I did divide the quince and get it potted for the year. I’ll find...
Lots of rain today but yesterday I managed to get some starts going (despite Jiffy’s inconsistency in their refill peat pellet sizes).
Also let the ducklings have their first full day outside and got the coop bedded. They all followed me back into the house in the evening as the neighbors...
Finished the duck run and coop! Gonna have to tweak the roof because it sags in the middle since I went cheap on the supports but otherwise everything is looking good!
Rain comes back tomorrow so I’m gonna spend the day resting, finally.
Checked the garden and the seeds I had written off...
Took advantage of the sun today to wall in the quack shack! Also got a jungle gym for the kids as a “quarantine gift” 😂 so I built that too. I’m even more pooped!
And then I lay down on the stall mats until DH called me in to dinner 😴
I’m loving the pics of seed starts and little leaves!!
Happy equinox! Our tradition is making banana pudding.
It’s been sunny and warm so the ducklings have spent afternoons outside while I work.
I’m so pooped! I’ve never framed a thing in my life but I framed the Quack shack the last two days. Just need to put on the walls, roof, and door...
I think it’s meant to be more like interstate travel restrictions, but supply chains are still in good working order.
watering is important! Also I laughed at “must be a too” 😂
Today was a big one for us. Worked on the duck coop and let the ducklings explore it for the first time! They got about 15 minutes out in the 55 degree sun and they LOVED it.
then I shored up our hillbilly patio with some more pavers, moved the wood pile, cleaned out the garage some (and made a...
Hello! Finally got outside today. I picked up some blueberries, currants, and jostaberries from a berry farmer and got 5 of 9 of them into the ground. Gonna try to get the other 4 in tomorrow but have a full schedule. Brooding ducklings is a bigger job than I thought, and I joined a 6 week...
To be fair, I used the game as my farming dream when we were $20k into a roof repair and home renovation and I couldn't touch the outside of the property.
Now I don't have time to play it, but I get to do it outside for real!
Also @Japuvian I love your gudetama icon. It's nice to see a fellow...
I have sunk hundreds
of
hours
Into stardew hahahahah!
"I have 20 minutes left before I have to leave, that's enough for one more day cycle if I go to bed by 10pm"
"Okay if I play one more day I think I can get enough money for the kitchen upgrade. Oh. frick, it's tuesday. okay, ONE more day then"
our hyacinth and daffodils have been fine with mid-upper 20s lows. I don’t cover them or even split them in the fall, they’re just doing their own thing at this point.
what are you playing? 👀
I finished Horizon: Zero Dawn a couple months ago and it’s ruined games for me now, hah! I’m grateful I haven’t been sucked in to anything new though, there’s so much hardscape to do outside.
We frosted hard last night and I lost my tomato seedlings, which I figured. I...
Morning!
We’re battling two illnesses among the kiddos and I managed to tweak my neck in sleep, but I’m going to juice up on OTC meds and take advantage of the SUN to finish my transplants. Yesterday we had crazy weather that I haven’t seen since I left Kansas (hail, sun, thunder, more hail...
Started potting my seedlings into the greenhouse and then it hailed??? So that’s promising. 😬
husband limbed the pole alders so now I have some nice straight roundwood pieces I might repurpose into gates and whatnot.
my fruit cocktail trees started to bud today! Hopefully they survived the...
