That was exactly what I was thinking. Another variety.....another pen. I will be keeping my future babies for a while to see what I have before I let someone else have them. I am just glad to know how they happened. The lady that had them was going to do that but they both turned out to be roos.

Your hen is gorgeous! I am also curious about your male. My Lavender roo looks similar to yours for the tail feathers. He just does not seem as filled out as my other AM roos. Maybe it has something to do with them feathering slower? Maybe I should post pictures as well.
I have a lavender roo and hen, but unfortunately they were from the same breeding pen. I have been thinking that I would use my black hens to obtain splits, and work from that direction for breeding the lavender hen. I did not know that you could use blue since it is not on my breeding chart...
Thank you very much. Guess I better hope one of my lavs is a roo! If not, it'll be a while before I get any lav chicks. Would have to get splits first. Or, buy more lavs next year! There goes the chicken math.
