    I dont think Tn has any such law. It has one about being so close to a house or road if I remember right but not shooting in the air. Now if you shoot in to the air an hit someone then that became a crime when it hit the person. I may be wrong though. You can read all of the Tn state laws here...

    I was out like a light just after dark. The dogs woke me up a few times, barking out the window at the sound of mortars. I think the drought kept it down this year.

    I like a shotgun for anything where I dont have a known backstop. AL sells fireworks at the state line too. As a trained firemen, forestry firemen an first responder I think the law banning fireworks is stupid. But then we live in a state that made it a $25K fine to burn a piece of paper...

    Georgia has some very interesting gun laws so the sheriff is right. He cant prove that was more than just an accident an no one was actually hurt so without more he can only warn him.
