Does anyone in Colorado breed Svarthona's (Sweedish Black Chicken)?
I was interested in getting one for the dinner table, so preferably no hens. I know how rare they are and you only need one rooster to get fertilized eggs.
I would be interested in a chick if the grown bird is too much for me.
For those interested, I plan to take chicks, some are Ayam Cermani, and other breeds, to the Brighton Agfinity RMFWA swap, July 14. If there are any not sold, then I will look into heading to the Big R Elizabeth swap. Any not sold there I will look into the Colorado state fair. These are chicks...
It's the middle of summer, and I have over 30 chicks to sell. Most are Ayam Cermani and Orpington crosses. I do have some Americana crosses. There are some pure Buff Orpington and Ayam Cermani chicks.
I s anyone interested. Also I'm looking for a butcher who deals with live birds in El Paso...
One of the goals this summer is to cut down to one breed of chickens. That being, I missed out on taking my mature pullets to the RMPWA swap.
I have four Buff Orpington pullets (all sisters) to sell. They hatched with a brooding hen June 24.
Currently I get eggs every day. However I can't tell...
I just put my chicks outside Monday and then we get snow. This is definitely a test of my outdoor chick pen. They are fine, checked on them about 4am. Still alive and quite warm.
Sunday at the RMPWA swap was a great day. I almost sold out.
I only have left 8 one month olds. 7 are Ayam Cermani x Buff Orpington hens and one Ayam Cermani cockerel.
I've
had that problem last year. Some issues could be smoothering, soiled nestbox even if the top looks good, and heat. More common chicks issues can be found on line.
I've been there a few times. Yes I know about the cost since I'm a member.
I've sold out before, usually within the first two hours.
The last swap I went to was free and some guy showed up giving away free roosters. As a result I couldn't sell anything.
It's because of people like that I can't...
In two weeks is the RMPWP swap at Agfiny in Brighton CO. I'm going. Anyone interested in getting some of my Ayam Cermani chicks, let me know in advance. I can bring some to the swap.
I will be taking my sex-link chicks. I've got some interesting color patterns with the ACs.
