Hey all! Anyone here remember me? I was on the forum all the time a couple of years ago, but then we got busy... and then I had to get rid of my birds for awhile. Now we are in a new place and I am getting chicks in two weeks. So excited to get back into it! I ordered some black cochins...

Where are you...how far southeast? I'm east of Parker. I'd be interested, but I'm guessing you're too far away to make it feasible?...
Let me put it this way...... we are closer to OK then Parker. i think you are about 4 hours from us. We are down towards Lamar.
OK COlorado people. I haven't been on here in forever, I have been trying to spend my time in more productive ways.
I got 6 pullets form Big R that I thought may be cochins.... they weren't, I forgot to check the combs. So I have 6 light brahma pullets, that are about 5 weeks old, for...

I have 12 pullets I would LOVE to sell you!! They are cochin x partridge plymoth rock. To brag on their mommies, one of my two cochins is currently sitting on her third batch this year, and I two out of three of my rocks hatched these guys.
ANYONE?????
Nope. Just grower for meat birds. You have to buy 1000 lbs, it was the only place I could find that would mill it. They probably have organic too, but I am sure it would be a lot more.. And Pueblo has a mill, but their minimum is 3 tons!!!
We are planning to buy a batch of meaties this fall, I think we are going to be ordering the first of next month. If anyone is interested in going in with us, we will be ordering from Welp. We are in the southeatern part of the state.
Also, I found feed for $12 something for 50 lbs in JaLunta.
Does anyone know when the Pueblo swap is this month? I will be taking Black Cochins babies, plus some other mixed chicks I cant keep. I currently have 55 chickens and chicks, and I have 30 or so more eggs due next week.
I always thought is was too hot to grow brassicas here. My friend gave me some seeds, do you think now would be a good time to plant them for a fall crop?
Wifezilla, you are SO right about the squash! It just grows! Any of the cucurbits or melons. I also have good luck with tomatoes. Peppers are a little trickier, they sunburn easily.
My potatoes are doing GREAT. It is my first year for them, but DH said they used to grow a lot of potatoes...
So it is two roos and a hen? OR two hens and a roo? And where exacly is that funny sounding town you live in? I may be interested... Dont tell DH. Are they good broodies?
I know what you mean, it is so nice out. I am still hoping my seeds diddnt get washed away by all the rain. I planted lettuce, beets, carrots, and onions right before the rain. I dont know how long to give them, but at least a week more I think.
