im gonna reinforce this statement with my own big r story.. ready?
first time buying chickens, had no idea about anything at all, so i thought ill ask the guy selling me the chickens whats what and what i need for them
the guy at big r told me pullets were males and straight run were females...

did i pay too much? this was last year , but at the time that seemed to be the going rate
Here is a little question for everyone , what would you ask for pullets from a hatchery on craigslist?
i was thinking about 8 dollars each?
what are your thoughts on this.. i ask here couse it seems the value of chicks is different wherever you go

i am blown away , and alittle bit in disbelief, as all the 4h animals that are sold at the elpaso county fair in calhan go to simla foods to be butchered, not granted simla is elbert county i wonder how this is possible?
good prices you have to admit, i think big r's cheapest scratch is $10.80 somethig and their cord is $10 too, their egg maker pellesa are "manna pro" which i have never tried beofre going there and it turns out my hens just friggin love it, and my egg production is better than ever only a week...
well i raise em , and what i do is $2.25 a lb live and $4.50 per lb allready butchered, by the way i use the simla processing plant, and they charge .60 cents a lb, but that way i am selling a USDA certified butchered bird.
also if you are wondering the simla grocery store is owned by the same...
