    I was reading here about both methods. Hmm... I'll keep thinking on it. I have some time. I'm not getting my chickens until, at least, October. Between the extreme heat and the the crazy Monsoon storms, Summer is not a good time to get chickens.

    I was thinking about using DLM , but I'm worried about the heat it puts off. The sand method sounds good. I think if I put a shade roof over the run, I might be able to use it for the run as well. What do you guys think?
