Well, it will certainly be worth trying! I figure if I got an Auburn pair and a Black Pair, I can breed the Auburn Roo with the Black hen and vice versa. I could then breed the offspring together to avoid close inbreeding. The Java gene pool being small already, I think starting a laced line...

How will that work since all the Auburns come from blacks. I thought since they were able to breed the Auburns out of the blacks that meant the blacks carry Db. Is my logic flawed? Wouldn't that just result in black birds again?

How can I get rid of the Db?

If I got some of these birds, what would I need to do to get them laced? Would I need to introduce the Pg gene? Would I just select for birds with better spangling?

Thinking of using a Blue Laced Red Wyandotte to breed in the blue lacing. Is the conformation of the Wyandotte that much different then the Java? From what I can see, they arn't that different, and I will be breeding back to pure Javas until they were pure again (or as close to it as I can come)...
