    Growing fodder for chickens

I used to eat dandelions when i was a kid. I also remember a song that mentions dandelion wine but I have never tried it. The field we had that was scattered with dandelion flowers did look pretty nice. The horses liked eating them also.

    Growing fodder for chickens

I sent an email to the ccp guys and am now waiting for a reply. I have been reading more of this thread though and see the temps above 70 degrees are not ideal for growing fodder. At this time the highs are around 100 degrees and the lows are around 75 degrees so i guess this would be a winter...

    Growing fodder for chickens

thanks for the CCP link. I will contact them to see if they will sell me some seed. I would probably have to grow it in trays like you are doing it and that might be too much for as many chickens as I have but maybe i can start it in trays then transplant it to dirt.

I don't think Rye, barley and wheat will grow here. At least that is the reason I am told that beer is so expensive. I am also told that alfalfa won't grow here and If i could get it to grow I could make a lot of money selling it to rabbit farmers.

    Growing fodder for chickens

Masa is the flour made from white corn so I just call white corn Masa corn. Picked the habit up from a friend that gave me the corn to plant. White corn is higher in B1 and B2 vitamins than yellow corn. Yellow corn is slightly higher in Niacin but In my opinion not enough to make up for not...

    Growing fodder for chickens

I am growing sun hemp for fodder and masa corn instead of feed corn. I compared white corn nutrients with the yellow corn nutrients and decided to go with white corn instead.
