    Growing fodder for chickens

I've been told that sprouts/fodder have a chance for ecoli because they have the perfect environment( moist and warm). Can anyone calm my fears? Is this like saying that you can get ecoli from raw milk? I have pigs, chickens and fodder in the same room, does that effect anything? If you search...

    Growing fodder for chickens

Does anyone know if it's possible for wheat to grow in this same system to where you can harvest the seeds? Would save some money if yes. If no, how many square feet of soil would it take to grow 50 lbs of wheat. I just did some research and answered my own question. Wheat and...

    Growing fodder for chickens

Just figured out how to do the quote thing. My latest response was for OkChickens. Dropped some barley in the sink and it started growing hah. I tried to pull it out but was only able to pull off the tops. Kind of a cool experiment to see how long they can grow.

    Growing fodder for chickens

Sounds like you have just about everything. You still need grow trays and a structure to put the grow trays on while the fodder is growing. You can get trays at walmart or the dollar store that aren't specifically for growing but will work just the same. You can also buy grow trays on Amazon...
