So we are neighbors! I keep a couple guns. People will literally take things out of the backyard or out from under my house. :/ I've lost 2 lawnmowers, 3 weed whackers, 2 chairs, and a bike.

Bte... WA chicken people are the best. After all my ducklings died in the shell, someone on the FB group loaned me a Brinsea Mini so my next hatch should be a lot better. Far less room for human error. That LG just was too hard to get the perfect temp and humidity
I'm not sure I can stick the reptile thermometer/hygrometer in a glass of water... But I can try. I kept the temp at 102 and humidity is supposedly 60%. Which is too low but I can't seem to get it up. I was told to check for internal pipping but I don't know how...
How does anyone NOT just sit in front of the incubator all day on day 28? I could just stare at eggs all day. I saw one wiggle and now I'm all anxious!
Btw... Made the mistake of taking my 4 year old to TSC. He fell in love with all the little bantam chicks. And I am horribly tempted to get him...
You know... I didn't even think to ask where they came from. I just got them from a woman I saw post in Duck Eggs Daily Facebook wall... and noticed she was local. Haha. I was just looking for a pet for my son so I wasn't too picky. I'll ask her and let you know.
The males are actually the quiet ones. My female duck is definitely the noisy one of my current ancona trio. She kinds honks in comparison to the rasping sound the boys make.
Nothing available until they hatch in 2 weeks. But you can come grab a few Cayuga ducklings straight run if you want. I...
The eggs in my incubator all seem to be doing well. I had one clesr. So I should be getting 8 Cayugas and 8 Anconas on March 15th... if all continues to go well. 5 of the Cayugas will be for sale. And a couple of the Anconas. Just in case anyone local will be looking for ducklings then. I'm just...
I didn't pick up Purina for a few reasons.... I really would have preferred to stick with S&P but sometimes you have to admit you are poor. Lol. So Nutrena it was. At least it is organic. It has the marigold extract too. But since my ducks are free ranging my entire backyard... Feed is...
I have heard about "black chicken" and am honestly curious to eat one and see if it tastes any different. Haha.
I'm not really in any of those categories. Or rather I am in several of them and none. I am raising heritage , critically endangered ducks. But I chose breeds with colorful eggs...
My 8 year old noticed the bullseye in our duck eggs and asked about it. I told her it is normal. Should I explain it to her? Or should I worry about freaking her out? It freaks my husband out a little if I talk to him about the details of things like that. Lol.
