Couldn't have built this (or even known how) without this website. SO PUMPED for my coop. Since this pic I've framed in the roof, covered the floor in hardware cloth, and covered with 5/8 minus and then coarse river sand. Chicks spent their first night in the coop last night!
Can I start feeding them mealworms (picked them up last Friday at 12:00 Noon)? I did feed them two small worms I found in my garden, and they definitely loved that.
Having so much fun raising my chicks so far. Picked them up from Issaquah grange and no problems whatsoever. They love playing hideaway/chase-and-run, and I love watching them. Having to clean their water and food twice a day though - don't they realize they shouldn't poop in their water...
Do you have any pics of the Cochins? And what age/size are the chicks you have for sale? Send pics and info to [email protected]. I might be in for grabbing a Cochin chick to join my other chicks.
Well, darn. Monroe Farm and Feed says they're no longer receiving Ameraucana chicks with this Friday's order. I was really wanting some of those!!!! Anyone have access/selling any chicks that will be ready around the same time (Friday the 22nd)?
I live in good ol' Mukilteo.
What's up with all this drama in the WA CHICKEN forum? Now - congratulate people on their coops, answer some chicken health issues, and let's talk about CHICKENS!
I would get more, but the city says four chickens. And, yes, that fence material is great. I really like the look of it. I plan to grow lots of clematis, climbing hydrangea, and rose this spring/summer.
